Dan Fouts helped usher in the modern passing era with the high-flying “Air Coryell” offense in San Diego. Known for his cannon arm, fearless reads, and leadership under pressure, Fouts piled up yards and Pro Bowl nods in the late ’70s and early ’80s — eventually earning his place in Canton as one of the most prolific passers of his generation.
