This is a program from the 27th Major League Baseball All Star Game pitting the American League against the National League at Municipal Stadium in Kansas City — which was home to the Athletics at that time.
Many people don’t realize that MLB played TWO All Star Games a season from 1958 to 1962. This was the first one of the 1960 season, with the National League winning 5–3. The two leagues played again two days later at Yankee Stadium, where the National League again prevailed by a score of 6–0.
In this game, the one in Kansas City, Ernie Banks and Del Crandall hit homers for the National League, and Al Kaline hit one for the American League. Bob Friend was the winning pitcher.
This program is in excellent condition for its age. There’s limited wear and tear, but it still looks beautiful — a real piece of MLB history.
