Dick Groat was a cornerstone of the Pittsburgh Pirates in the 1950s and early ’60s. A skilled shortstop, he became an 8-time All-Star, batting champion, and the 1960 NL MVP, helping lead the Pirates to their dramatic World Series win over the Yankees.
